Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot Program

This is a community-driven program which looks at spreading the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities. It is a game changer for the small provinces which has a low density of population, specifically to attract certain high demand skilled workers who are essential but currently not available in the particular community. Therefore the community has a role in categorizing and choosing the required professions for which they have to look for via this Pilot program. It helps in creating a path to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers who want to work and live in 1 of the participating communities.

This Rural & northern immigration pilot will cater to meet local labor market needs and support the regional economic development .The successful implementation of this program will result in long-term retention of skilled newcomers to rural areas.
